West Indies and sw. USA to northern South America. Usually hard, pointed leaves in rosettes. Sunny, cool and dry in winter.

Related to Portulaca. Miniature rosettes of fat leaves, bristly hairs in axils. Short-lived flowers. Avonias have minute leaves, usually arranged spirally, covered with scales. Moderate watering.

Robust vine, dark green cordate leaves, large green and white flowers, shaped like an inverted umbrella shaped canopy. Plant — $5.00

“Rosary Vine” or “String of Hearts”. Slender trailing stems, forms tubers at nodes. Heart-shaped leaves, marked silver. Plant — $4.00
